Cllr Tim Nelson is Chairman of the Newport Youth Café charity, aka "The Hub".

Newport Town Council have partnered principally with Burton Borough School to provide a training and work experience package in the Hub. The youngsters attend a 14 week programme, volunteers, learning food hygiene customer service and Barista skills.

Last night was the presentation ceremony for the second cohort and the third cohort of 11 have already started. It has proved popular!

Deputy Mayor of Newport, Cllr Bill Harper, joined Cllr Nelson to present certificates to the latest Pathways graduates. Cllr Harper has been a keen supporter of the Hub and has often found valuable commercial sponsorship.

Cllr Nelson said:

I am honoured to be asked to present the certificates, and say a few words of praise. Well done Newport's young people.
