Illegal traveller camp on Shuker fields in Newport

Caravans parked on Shuker Playing Fields in Newport

Travellers have set up an illegal encampment on Shuker fields in Newport over the weekend.

We know it can be deeply concerning for residents to have unsettled and illegal encampments of this kind, particularly on a well loved public amenity such as Shuker fields.

Telford & Wrekin Council provides Traveller sites, so there is no need for illegal encampments. We trust the council will act very promptly and decisively to remove this public worry.

If you would like to raise any concerns or experience any issues related to this illegal encampment, get in touch with one of our Newport councillors.
