Telford and Wrekin Conservatives have shared their delight after results show the party has won more contested local elections across the borough than any other political party since Christmas 2024.

The political party has taken five victories at parish, town and borough level. These include two wins in Hadley, the most recent being last week, alongside further wins in Muxton, Stirchley and Dawley Hamlets. This puts them ahead of Labour, Reform UK, the Liberal Democrats and Independents.

The run of success began with Councillor Stuart Parr’s victory in Hadley Manor in December 2024.

The results come as the local party prepares for next year’s all-out borough elections.

Councillor Andrew Eade, Conservative Group Leader on Telford and Wrekin Council, said: “These results show that the Conservatives are winning again in Telford and Wrekin. Since Christmas 2024, we have won more contested elections across the borough than any other party.

“That is because residents are looking for strong local candidates, practical action and a serious alternative to Labour’s tired administration. We know next year’s all-out elections will be a major challenge, but we are ready for that fight. We have a strong team, a strong plan and a clear commitment to stand up for communities across Telford and Wrekin.”

Deputy Leader and Priorslee Councillor Rachael Tyrrell said: “Across Telford and Wrekin, people want councillors who listen, work hard and focus on the issues that matter locally: safer streets, better roads, stronger communities, good local services and value for money.”

Councillor Stuart Parr said: “I was proud to win in Hadley Manor just before Christmas 2024, and it is fantastic to see Conservative candidates continuing to build on that success across Telford and Wrekin.”

Since December 2024, the contested election wins across the borough stand at five for the Conservatives, three for Independents, three for Labour, three for Reform UK and one for the Liberal Democrats.
